Transport

Use caution when transporting live bees. There is always the possibility of having loose bees that may cause stings.

  • Secure the package/NUC in your vehicle to insure there is no possibility of tipping/opening.

  • During transport, ensure that your bees are shaded and well ventilated. It is not recommended to transport bees in the trunks of vehicles due to overheating risks.

  • A great tool for transporting bees is a mesh laundry bag. This will prevent bees from getting loose while still having sufficient ventilation.

Storage

Do not store your package bees in direct sunlight. Garages or sheds are a great alternative

  • Keep your bees cool and dry, preferably below 60 degrees

  • If you are unable to install your bees immediately, place your NUC on or near the hive that you will be using.

  • For packages, store securely in a garage or shed. You can mist your bees with water or sugar syrup for hydration if needed.

(Use Google Maps and Follow pickup signs)
